This 1910 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was one of only 334 of its kind made. The Davidson brothers and William Harley started their production of motorcycles in a small wooden shed in 1905 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The first models are known as ‘strap tanks’ for the nickel-plated bands suspending the fuel and oil tanks from the frame. The motorcycle is started by pedaling the bike. Harley-Davidson went from making 50 bikes in 1906 to currently making roughly 300,000 bikes a year. People come from all over the world to be part of a Harley-Davidson road bike trip. There is something about the nostalgia, the age and the wear and tear of old motorcycles that draws me in. I fell in love with this bike in particular because of its color. It’s one of those rare American made items that tells a story of the American entrepreneurial dream.
