Daily, high desert landscapes confront me and I am filled by their beauty, their vastness and their complexity.
Paying tribute to the natural world keeps us grounded and more in tune with our surroundings and who we are. On the surface, my work is an attempt to codify the beauty of the landscape, blending reality and imaginary elements. To that end, intuitive gesture, inner critique, doubt, and my emotional responses to them all are laid bare. A painting becomes densely layered,
intricate, and ultimately human.
